Computer genius??

Here he is, our resident genius typing madly at the computer. What do we see on the screen as we peer avidly over his shoulder? Life on another planet? A solution to pi?

ahhhh...the longest numerical-alphabetical word known to two year olds!!!

See!?!

I told you he was a genius!
(and he's cute, too!)

Camping on the Cape!

We had a lovely fun time at Cape Cod! Despite not ever going past Brewster, we found Provincetown in jig time. Everything in town was within walking distance, and the beaches were a very short drive away. The kids had a blast, and the weather could not have been better for camping. And best of all, when all the rest of Massachusetts was sweltering in our first heat wave in a few years, the Cape was comfortable! Ocean breezes all the time, warm waters to swim in, and cool nights for sleeping comfortably! Below is eldest son Chet at our campsite. He and Rob shared a tent, and the rest of us were in the tent on the left. Right behind him is our eating zone, laundry zone, and hanging out zone!
The very top picture is of KC and Robbie at dinner on night two. KC is very proud of his new sunglasses and drove Rob to distraction over them...on...off...HEWP WOBBIE..GWAASSES ON!...on...off ... repeat!
The second picture is Cape Cod Light at Truro. The museum was not open while we were there, but the outdoor scenery was breathtaking. Rob and I got to hear a bobwhite, and finally spotted him sitting in a little tree in a knoll!
All in all, it was a wonderful 4 days on the Cape, and I will elaborate on our tales in future posts!

A day at the beach

The amazing boy who can walk on water??!! No, it's Robbie, and an incredibly lucky shot by Mom who was standing in the water beside him as he leapt the waves with aplomb! Although his face is in shadow, the joy of the moment is plainly carried in the boyo's body language! This was the most fun he'd had at the beach, ever!

Robbie was showing KC how to dig holes in the sand. They had a great time making this one, and once it was filled in, both boys headed back to the water. This is Ferry Beach in Saco Maine, and the water was a not-quite-balmy 57 degrees! brrrr, but nice on such a warm day!

None of us remember a more fun 4th of July mini vacation! Although Chet had to work, he was not unhappy about it, choosing to fulfil his obligation to his employer, Meals on Wheels, since their mission is clearly a very necessary one. As he told Robbie, "I have to work, to help feed people, and to get paid. You know, like as in money?" So here he is in his work uniform, just as we all headed out the door.

One last picture of the day, Lee in the water, an amazing sight! Both boys were having so much fun jumping the waves, and splashing, that I don't think they even noticed how cold the water was!
